We welcome college players and visitors to Boston to play and train with us over the summer. Please use the recruitment form or message the Wolfhounds Instagram to find out more.
This summer our team will be coached by senior Wolfhounds player Paul Janiszewski. Paul was born and raised in Ellicott City, Maryland. His rugby journey began in 2016 during his first year at Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland. He played wing and fullback on the XVs team and was a first team all conference prop for the 7s team. By his senior year in 2019, Paul had earned the role of team captain. In addition to his college rugby experience, Paul played for the men's sevens team, Beltway Elite 7s, in Silver Spring, Maryland, during the summers of 2018, 2019, and 2020. His time with Beltway Elite 7s further developed his skills and deepened his love for the sport. Paul relocated to New England during the pandemic and joined the Boston Irish Wolfhounds for the 2021 season, hoping to find an opportunity to also play for the Free Jacks academy. His performance with the Wolfhounds opened doors for him to play with the New England Independents. Later, Paul became an assistant backs coach at Belmont High School as well as an assistant coach for the U18 Junior Jacks. Paul is eager to lead and inspire the team. With his experience and infectious enthusiasm, Paul is poised to drive the Boston Irish Wolfhounds to new successes and help players develop their skills as the new 7s coach
This summer the team is entered in competitive sevens tournaments in June, July and August. Practices will be Tuesday and Thursday at Roberts Playground in Dorchester from 8-9:30. Starting June 18th practice will be at BC High from 6:30 to dark.
The Wolfhounds Old Boys compete as the Greyhounds. All the joys of rugby without the rigours of practice.
